Although it doesn’t look like winter will be around for much longer here in Edmonton, we just have to share this sweet snowshoeing engagement session with you! It doesn’t get much more Canadian than trekking through the snow on authentic vintage snowshoes, does it? Here’s a little bit more about Lise and George, as told by one of their photographers, Shauna Roughley of Roughley Originals Photography.
“One amazing thing about my job is reconnecting with people. I met Lise when we were both in school at MacEwan. We were friends for years and then drifted apart when Lise moved to Vancouver.
Fast forward a few years and I got an email from Lise – she was back from Vancouver and engaged! What an honour to be asked to photograph their wedding.
Lise and George met while George was working with Lise’s brother. Lise said she was immediately drawn to his big smile, and things just went from there.
They live in Bonnyville now, the town they are both from. Their house backs onto a small lake and they enjoy exploring the area on their snowshoes in the winter. When we were brainstorming about their engagement photos and I mentioned snowshoes, it worked perfectly! The snowshoes are from George’s parents’ farm and are made of sinew, wood, and leather.
Lise and George are getting married in Edmonton this summer, at Snow Valley ski hill.”
