On a cold day in January, a group of WPIC-certified wedding planners gathered in the cozy sanctuary that is the Woodrack Café. The purpose was professional development, and I had the privilege of being called in to talk about something I’m totally passionate about – having a professional and personality-filled online presence.
The event was organized by the lovely Jenn of Something Beautiful Weddings, who is the current regional WPIC representative for the Edmonton area. It was an awesome chance for planners of all experience levels to meet, chat and learn together – if you are interested in taking part in future WPIC Alumni events, be sure to follow Something Beautiful on social media! You can also keep an eye on the WPIC online alumni forums for information.
I had such an awesome time making new friends and reconnecting with others – I will say it a million times: Edmonton is overflowing with talented wedding professionals who have huge hearts for both their clients and industry friends! It was great to hear different perspectives and discuss our experiences when it comes to running our businesses.
This was my first opportunity to speak about online presence and blogging for business, and I was so excited to get this info out into the world! I’ve been preparing this seminar content for a long time, and it was great to share it with a group of women so eager to learn.
One thing that became obvious is that there’s a whole lot more information that I wanted to share. As a result, I’m offering a more in-depth workshop with the same title: Internet Savvy for your Wedding Biz. It’s taking place on March 22, and I would LOVE to see you there.
This workshop is perfect for people who are ready to inject personality into their online presence to set themselves apart from the crowd. We’ll talk about how your website is part of the customer experience, and how you can use it to love on your clients. Obviously, we’ll cover blogging for business, from the nitty gritty details like image alt tags and SEO to the big questions about the purpose of your blog. Come and meet other awesome wedding vendors, learn together, and make your business more awesome.
