Okay, can we just start with saying that this bride’s style is on point – we can’t get enough of Kristen’s gorgeous blush pink dress paired with killer studded flats. Amazing! With their first look on the patio at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, Adam and his groomsmen got to enjoy a drink in style while waiting for the ladies to arrive. We love the personal touches that this couple included in their wedding, as well the unique choices, such as having the wedding party sit at a large dining table (dressed with gorgeous flowers by FaBLOOMosity), enjoying the meal together rather than being on a stage facing the rest of the wedding guests. Read on for more details about their day, their story, and how they brought to life a wedding that was just perfect for them.

How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends more than 8 years ago.
What was the proposal like?
We knew for a very long time that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives, and we talked a lot about getting married. We looked at rings for quite a few months, and I showed Adam lots of styles and colors that I loved. Then one day, he handed me a package to open, and inside was the most stunning, perfectly ‘me’ ring I had ever seen. I’m pretty sure we both cried happy tears that day 🙂
Tell us about the planning process! Was there anything you were worried wouldn’t work, but turned out awesome?
When we first started planning, we had chosen a certain venue for our wedding, and then quite unexpectedly that place fell through. We went into panic mode for a little bit, but then we contacted LUX Steakhouse & Bar, and it turned out to be one of the best planning decisions we made. The LUX team was amazing to work with, and they really helped to make sure that our wedding went off smoothly – plus the food was outstanding! Also, we worked with some other absolutely fabulous vendors and everything from our cake and flowers to hair, makeup and photography was better than we ever dreamed.
What was the best moment of the day?
This is a hard question! There are just so many moments that stand out: our first look at the Hotel MacDonald patio, walking down the aisle and hearing the vows that we wrote, and of course, saying “I do” and partying the night away with our favourite people! The whole day felt so perfect and special to us, and we felt so lucky to celebrate with our family and friends, especially since many of them had to travel pretty far to get here. And we still get choked up remembering the incredible speeches given at our reception.
Got any advice for someone planning an edmonton wedding?
Think outside the box! Don’t feel like there is only one way to put together a wedding – you can do anything you want! There are wonderful vendors in Edmonton, and they can make your vision happen, no matter what it is. Make sure you take time to enjoy the process, and remember that any stress and craziness is only temporary, and it will all be worth it!
Vendor shoutouts – what vendors made your day awesome?
We worked with amazing vendors, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend all of them!

Is there anything else about your wedding that you’d like to share with us?
We feel like we had the perfect wedding. There were definitely stressful times during the planning process, but we were so lucky to have such supportive people helping us along the journey. Everyone we worked with helped to make the big day even more special than we could have hoped for. Our family and friends were very involved in our planning process, including creating our ceremony and brainstorming the fun little touches during our reception, and that made the whole event feel so personal. Also, our guests were extremely generous, and we ended up raising quite a bit of money for the Humane Society during our reception, which was just so heartwarming!
