Can we just take a minute to appreciate the bridal party attire at this wedding? It’s been a while since we’ve seen a groom looking so good in white! Not to mention Jen’s amazing oversized hair flower in lieu of a veil, and those killer little black dresses that the bridesmaids are wearing… Jen and Andrew’s hot pink and black was colour-coordinated to perfection. And that wasn’t the only thing that was planned down to the last detail – you just have to read their proposal story below… enjoy!

What was the proposal like?
Andrew had set up an “Amazing Race: Edmonton Edition” that included 23 of our friends and family. Each location was something memorable for us…where we met, first date etc. but because I am so competitive, i didnt clue in! We “raced” for over four hours and everyone knew what was going to happen except me! When we crossed the finish line, the “host” of the race said, “your journey is not over yet…” at that moment Andrew got on one knee and proposed!
Tell us about the planning process! Was there anything you were worried wouldn’t work, but turned out awesome?
Everything actually went really smooth! I have done event planning before (for work) and we knew what we wanted so the process went really well!
What was the best moment of the day?
Oh my gosh! Too many to say… We did a “heart” picture where all of our guests stood in the shape of a heart and we stood in the middle. This was something I wanted to do and it went off perfect! Also, we had a choreographed first dance that was in a contemporary style to Sam Smith’s “Latch” (acoustic). We spent many hours practicing, so when it came to the Big Day, and we got a standing ovation, I was beside myself with joy!
Got any advice for someone planning an edmonton wedding?
Start NOW! The “toughest” thing was making decisions but if you give yourself enough time, you can work through everything. Also, think about WHEN you are getting married… is there anything else going on in the city that can impact you? We got married on one of the busiest graduation weekends (last weekend in June)..that being said we booked our limo in March and we got one of the LAST limos in the city!
