Ryan and Jasmine met in 2010 in Camrose when they were both living in the area. At the time, Ryan was working as a bartender, where he caught Jasmine’s eye. Knowing she likely wouldn’t have a chance to meet him elsewhere, Jasmine was brave enough to approach him with her phone number. Ryan had noticed her too before then, so he wasted no time in using her number the very next day. They grew close very quickly and were almost immediately inseparable.
They moved to Edmonton together where they continued to grow as a couple and soon added two little dogs, Zoe and Mya, to their little family. Both returned to school (Ryan became a 4th Class Power Engineer and Jasmine a Registered Dental Assistant) and they bought their first home together soon after.
Ryan chose their most favourite place, the Rocky Mountains, to propose. He was too nervous to make much of a game plan other than to know on which day he wanted to ask her. So, on a perfect and warm spring day, Ryan woke up early to make Jasmine all of her favourite things for breakfast and suggested they visit the outdoor hot tub of their resort. Seeing that they had the place all to themselves, Ryan wasted no time. As Jasmine was remarking on the sunlit mountain view and how perfect the day was, Ryan turned her around, dropped to one knee and answered with “The only thing that could make it any more perfect would be if you married me!” To which her obvious reply was “YES!!”
