princesses-at-heart, look out! what would happen if you translated Disney’s ‘Beauty And The Beast’ into elegant, modern, and perfectly pink wedding decor? today’s featured images, that’s what.
Something Beautiful Wedding Planning‘s owner and lead designer, Jenn Denis, is a massive fan of all things Disney, and used that passion to dream up this fantastic tablescape. we absolutely love how she incorporated so many details from the movie, while keeping them cohesive and modern. a fantastic group of edmonton wedding vendors came together to execute this look, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you today. details about the process of pulling together this inspiration, as well as all of the vendors who played a part, are below, and written by Something Beautiful.
The concept for this styled table was based off of the song “Be Our Guest” from the film “Beauty and the Beast”. The song popped into my head one day and I quickly found the clip online and began to take notes! Gold napkins, pink flowers, candelabras…. It’s amazing how much inspiration an animated movie can provide. The idea started simple but ended up turning into something really great and I think very reflective of the movie.
My first step was to contact a photographer to help me capture the ideas I had! There is a lot of talent in Edmonton when it comes to photography but something about the images in Lyndsay Greenwood Photography’s portfolio stood out to me. I got in touch with Lyndsay and after our first meeting things took off! She and I clicked instantly and bonded over coffee and cookies while we discussed the inspiration boards I had put together. After we decided to work together, both of us went to check out The Yellowhead Brewery to use as our studio space for the shoot. I loved the amount of natural light and red brick walls to act as a backdrop. (Side note, not only is Lyndsay a super talented photographer but she is also a super talented antiquer! She introduced me to The Blue Jar antique shop where I found some beautiful pieces to use in the photo shoot as well as a few other things I didn’t really need but couldn’t seem to leave behind…)
I met with Samantha from Flowers In The Park to describe the vision I had to her and discuss some ideas for the floral arrangements. She created a STUNNING floral runner for the table using hydrangeas, tulips and roses with a single rose encased in glass featured in the centre. It was our little nod to the enchanted rose from the movie! I also wanted to feature one single flower at each place setting and Samantha found some roses that complimented the menus perfectly!
The menus and place cards were designed by Nicole from Glossie. This was one of the first elements I knew would be included from the beginning but all I knew for sure was I wanted them to be romantic, pink and use the lyrics from the song as menu items. Nicole exceeded my expectations when she showed me the rose theme she designed and then even more so when I saw the detail she put into the place cards by using characters names!
The dessert table was a collaboration between myself and Jen from Over The Top Cakes. She and her staff created the most perfect tiny macarons to go along side the tower of cream puffs and “the grey stuff” I made. (Another nod to the film, “try the grey stuff – its delicious!”) The macarons were not only beautiful but tasted amazing!
The rentals were a combination from River City Events and Special Event Rentals. The staff at both companies were wonderful to work with, not even batting an eye when I came in for the millionth time to change my mind on plates or napkins!
