another weekend, another bridal show in edmonton… or so i thought! on Sunday i joined a crowd of (mostly) ladies at the Matrix Hotel to take in Swept – a carefully curated selection of edmonton vendors, working in collaboration to create an exquisite environment full of wedding inspiration.
there are two big differences between Swept and every other bridal show i’ve been to. the first is the intimacy of the environment – it’s small enough to see everything without any risk of being overwhelmed, and intimate enough that you’ll easily have a chance to chat with any vendors you’d like to. secondly, the nature of the show is collaborative. there are no booths, and each area is a collection of inspiration brought together by a team of vendors.
i truly enjoyed the experience, and am pleased to share a few snaps i took at Swept – enjoy!
Over The Top Cakes
after adoring so much of Over The Top‘s amazing cakes on social media (and in a past post), it was great to finally meet Jennifer and her team – and the cakes tasted just as good as they looked! i’m in love with the bold black, pink and gold cake with a tier covered in hand-painted roses…
The Violet Chocolate Company
i was pleasantly surprised by the goodies that Rebecca from The Violet Chocolate Company had to offer – such imaginative flavours and colours! have you ever seen a tower of chocolate truffles done croquembouche-style? me neither. i had an incredible root beer flavoured chocolate…
The Sweet Room
both of the above vendors were in The Sweet Room, which also featured a bubbly bar, and all sorts of snack inspiration – The Matrix created a spread of treats including a waffle bar, a popcorn bar, a sparkling water bar and a hot cocoa bar.
The Inspiration Room
last but certainly not least – the decor inspiration. Swept’s Inspiration Room featured a wealth of design inspiration from High Culture Weddings & Events, Atmosphere Weddings, Cory Christopher, ID Bohemia, Special Event Rentals, Dress My Day, The Paper Wedding by Carmen, JoyFoley Weddings, with beautiful details by faBLOOMosity, Pinkpolka Design and more. there was truly something for everyone on display, from rustic to ultra-chic to big bling and sequins.
thanks so much to the Swept team for giving such a fab experience, and showcasing such a grand collaboration of edmonton wedding talent – looking forward to next year already!
