in case you missed the buzz throughout edmonton social media (not likely!) Bridal Fantasy shook up the edmonton wedding world on Sunday the 18th. we simply had to go down and check out all of the talent on display, and meet so many of the rad vendors we’ve been lucky enough to connect with online. FO Photography joined me to get some sweet photos, and Anika of Anika Loewen Design came along for great company. we had a fab time at the show, and as it turns out, there was just too much goodness for one post… and we didn’t even get a chance to connect with everyone we would’ve liked to! today we’re showcasing the cakes, flowers and venues that we had a chance to visit.
The Art of Cake
it was such a pleasure to meet Gloria from The Art of Cake – i’ve seen (and tasted) her amazing creations at numerous weddings over the past couple years, and so it was great to connect with the artist behind these delicious masterpieces. Gloria is just as sweet as her cake creations!

Sawmill Banquet Centre
i was delighted to connect with friends at the Sawmill Banquet Centre booth – this is one of my favourite venues, with helpful staff and incredible food. their booth showed off some intricate fruit artwork, and a wedding cake made of their trademark sesame sauce (it had shrunk in size by the time we arrived, as many couples went home with some)!
with bouquets of very diverse style on display at their booth, Rosella of Studio Bloom really made it clear that her flowers are a little something for everyone! this was yet another person it was great to meet in person after connecting during #yegweddinghour on twitter, and having her write a guest post for yegwed.com!

Cake Affair‘s ‘almost’ naked cake (or ‘scantily clad cake’, as we called it) was one of my favourite cakes at Bridal Fantasy – i just loved that it had the up-to-date look of a naked cake with the classic shape of a tiered cake. we also got a taste test of her mini cupcakes, and they were de-lish!

Floral Studio at Hole’s + Enjoy Centre
this booth was simply gorgeous! with an abundance of soft, feminine colors and flowers, they really showed some beautiful work. and with so many services under one roof, the Enjoy Centre is really a great place to go for one-stop wedding shopping – starting with a number of versatile venue spaces, plus floral design, catering services and more.
stay tuned for part two, which will cover wedding planning and design – coming soon!
