welcome to our second installation in a series of posts showing unique wedding venues in edmonton (you can view part one here)! with our soft spot for couples and vendors that prefer their weddings to stay out of the box, it’s our absolute pleasure to showcase some of edmonton’s less ‘typical’ wedding venues. as your wedding venue will shape the mood and atmosphere of your wedding, we hope you find inspiration in these images – and we’d be tickled pink to hear that you’ve chosen one of these gems as the setting for your celebration!
Winspear Centre – Main Floor Lobby
don’t be fooled by the word ‘lobby’ – with giant windows that allow for a flood of natural light and a perfect view of edmonton’s iconic Sir Winston Churchill Square, this is one elegant space for a wedding. there’s a certain grandness to the Main Floor Lobby, with its high ceiling and beautiful artwork on display, but there are a number of other unique and beautiful spaces at the Winspear Centre too – click here to see all they have to offer for weddings.
The Princess Theatre
why not get married in one of the most beautiful buildings that whyte ave has on offer? i can think of so many weddings that would be perfect in the Princess Theatre – the wedding of two film-lovers, a vintage-inspired ceremony, or even two people who want to get married in their Old Strathcona stomping ground. it’s a gorgeous building with a rich, warm interior – contact the theatre via their website here.
after the rise in popularity of the Yellowhead as a wedding venue over the last couple years, it may no longer be a ‘hidden’ gem, but it is definitely unique. the brick walls and exposed beams are super stylish and need little-to-no decor, and the beautiful, glass-walled brewery is perfect for photos. and, obviously, it means that you and your guests will be drinking great beer, too! visit the Yellowhead website for more info.
Edmonton Queen Riverboat
i can’t think of a better way to show your friends and family all the beauty of the edmonton river valley and the city skyline than to have your wedding aboard the Edmonton Queen Riverboat. with a dining room capacity of up to 160 people, there’s plenty of room for all of your loved ones to join you on the North Saskatchewan. booking info can be found here.
be sure to check out part one here! are there any unique wedding venues you’d like to see featured? let me know in the comments!
